I am an internationally recognized scholar in science communication and public engagement with science. I hold a PhD in Science and Technology Studies (STS) from University College London (UCL) and have held prestigious fellowships at Cornell University (Fulbright Scholar) and the London School of Economics (Marie Curie Fellow). I lead international research projects, including EU-funded initiatives, on ongoing changes in the culture of public communication of science at institutional and individual levels, focusing on international comparisons. Currently an Assistant Professor at Iscte and researcher at CIES-Iscte, and a visiting Scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), my academic contributions and leadership have earned me the European Young Researcher Award (2016) (by EuroScience) and recognition in ‘Women in Science’ 2019 (by Ciência Viva), and publications in the area in top academic journals.
